Dear Chef Rob: How can I cook from my liquor cabinet?

As the holidays creep closer our liquor cabinets seem to get a little more attention—a few more bottles of wine, larger bottles of your favourite spirits, and those mystery liqueurs that have been in there since…well who knows?

What is it about the Christmas holidays that makes us stock our liquor cabinets? I’ll tell you what it is: all the parties and get-togethers that we attend or are obligated to host.

If you are like me, when it comes to home entertaining, food and drink are the stars of the show—the true life of the party. After all, “eat, drink and be merry” is the theme of the holidays.
