We got this one from Cory Krul at Cornelia Bean, who says this tea is great when iced on its own. Put tea in pot and pour on 1 litre of hot water, then let stand for half an hour or longer. Pour tea into ice-filled pitcher. As ice melts, top up with more ice. Sweeten to taste. Serve with strawberries that have been halved and frozen into ice cubes.
Optional: Add 1 litre of orange-mango sparkling water to tea. Cory recommends using a Soda Stream unit, which are available at Cornelia Bean.
Serves 4-8.
Savasana Power Shake
1 1/2 cups (12 oz) vanilla almond milk
2 cups frozen mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries)
3 Tbsp organic coconut milk
This recipe comes from Calm Unity Cafe, located in Moksha Yoga Winnipeg's Waverley location. Shake the vanilla almond milk well. Combine ingredients in a blender, then blend until smooth. Pour and enjoy!
Serves one.
Amarula Strawberry Freeze
3 scoops vanilla ice cream
5 medium-sized strawberries
2 oz Amarula Cream Liqueur
This one is great for dessert on a hot summer day. Put all ingredients into a blender and blend on high until mixed and smooth. Pour into a tall glass and garnish with a fresh strawberry!
Serves one.
Pomegranate Blueberry Martini
1 1/2 oz SKYY vodka
1/2 oz pomegranate juice
1/2 ox pure blueberry juice
slice of lemon for garnish
In a shaker, pour vodka and juices over ice. Shake and strain into a martini glass. Serve with a slice of lemon. It’s like blueberry pie in a glass!
Serves one.
